WAV vs MP3

So I've re-ripped all my CD's to uncompressed WAV instead of MP3 at 320kbps. I'm just wondering what everyones opinion is. Is it worth the extra disc space for what is supposed to be better quality sound? But I'm not sure I can tell a difference.

I always use MP3 format, as the compression does not bug me. I don't have picky ears, but others can only listen to uncompressed music. It just depends on whether or not it bothers you.

Re: WAV vs MP3

The PCM WAV will be better since you are not lossy compressing it.

To save space you could compress the PCM WAVs with FLAC. FLAC is a lossless codec, so you can compress without any loss of quality, unlike MP3. You could also convert the FLAC back to WAV and get the same exact WAV file back. If you have an iPod you could use Apple Lossless instead of FLAC.

Yes I will look into FLAC, heard of it before as I believe some official Beatles songs were released in that format so it must be pretty decent for official releases.

Re: WAV vs MP3

I have most of my music in .WMA and .MP3 WAV is just too difficult to work with.
